Art

Generative Art by Ben Brown

In my spare time, I like to experiment with digital art forms like pixel art, and generative art.

I had a show of my work in late 2011 called Low Revolution that featured a 16-foot wide pixel art wallpaper. I also created a piece of interactive art for the opening of the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco.

I use software to create most of my art, and most of the software I create can be used by you. Most of it is collected here on my blog. Recently, I've been working on a series of presidential portraits, and also frequently revisit my affection for New York Times op-ed columnist Paul Krugman.

Work

I run XOXCO, Inc, a product design and development firm.

I build applications and digital publications for myself and for clients. I also release a lot of reusable code which can be found on Github.

XOXCO is a fun place to work - we've got 5 people so far, and we work out of a fun space in South Austin next to our favorite coffee shop.

We try to write a lot of thoughtful and useful posts for the XOXCO Blog. My goal is to keep it a site that I would want to read, filled with interesting and amusing stuff.

While we are still doing client work, the team is very focused on our new multi-platform publishing product, Packagr.
