Peter, Bjorn and the other guy behind the drum kit
Katie and I went to see Peter, Bjorn and John last night. The show was great. This band knows how to kick out the rock. Plus, they are Swedish. I heart Swedes. I felt bad for John, though. Not only is he physically behind the rest of the band AND his drums, he gets third billing on the giant banner they hung at the back of the stage. From our spot in the middle of the audience, it appeared that the name of the band was PETER BJORN AND. I spent a lot of time at the concert thinking that they should use an ampersand instead of “and” and move him up one line so that he is above the fold, thusly:
P E T E R
B J O R N
& J O H N
This makes me think of a recent episode of Jesse, Jordan, Go! in which they discuss their inability to experience their lives outside of the perspective of a comedian. I frequently feel as if I experience my life filtered through a web browser, but without a back or reload button, and also without fancy synchronized bookmarks. Except that I do have fancy synchronized bookmarks in my actual web browser, so does it even matter? I can’t tell anymore. But the next time I feel the urge to describe something in the physical world using cascading style sheet terminology, I am going to punch myself in the neck.
