The Best Part of the iPhone Bluetooth Headset
I bought the iPhone Bluetooth Headset with the $100 rebate Steve Jobs gave me as a personal gift for having been a loyal fan and close personal friend of his for so long. It is so tiny that I am afraid that I will lose it at any second. Also, the battery life is not so great. But I love it, especially now that my beard is so large, the headset can be hidden in its voluminous bush.
My favorite part of the whole deal is the dock cable that came in its box. Apple calls it the iPhone Bluetooth Travel Cable because you on back of the dock connector, there is a little magnetic slot for the headset. But its my favorite part because it came with a new kind of little plastic cover for the dock connector. Whereas in the past, Apple has shipped these cables (and all their cables, in my experience) with nothing but a simple and essentially disposable little plastic cap about the size of a mouse turd, the travel cable’s cap has a clever little cable winder attached. ZOMFG!!! When I’m not using the cable, it keeps itself all organized. And when I am using it, the cap stays connected to the cable so I don’t lose it in the couch! I will say it again: ZOMFG!!!
Now, there may be those amongst you that say, Ben, is this really worth two ZOMFGs with three exclamation points each? And I would like to remind these people of all the tiny little plastic caps that go on the end of cables that they have lost in their couch, and all the times that they’ve opened their backpack looking for an iPod cable only to find it a festering cesspool of intertwangled cables, and then to reconsider their unnecessarily bad attitude towards my enthusiasm.
